Give your goal a practical meaning.
“Get fitter” is a starting point. Make it more specific: what would you like to do with greater strength, confidence, or consistency? Name the change that would make training worthwhile to you.
A goal could be learning to use your weights, building a weekly routine, or feeling more capable in everyday activities. Your priorities shape the conversation.
Bring these four things.
- Your current routine and any previous training experience.
- A realistic set of days and time windows you can repeat.
- The room and equipment you would like to use.
- The questions or concerns you want your coach to understand.
Know what you are agreeing to.
Before a first workout, confirm the session format, equipment arrangements, cost, and cancellation terms. Discuss your starting abilities and anything that could affect exercise planning. Read the planned coaching approach for the session priorities.
Choose a routine you can repeat.
You and your trainer choose two to four sessions a week to match your goals and fit your life. With POWER UP 20, you can build momentum across eight weeks: two weekly sessions for four weeks to build strength and confidence, then three for the next four to turn up the challenge as you get stronger. See the twenty-session program.
Decide what progress will look like.
Ask how the plan will be reviewed. Useful measures may include consistency, technique, or progress with an agreed exercise. Choose measures connected to your own goal, rather than relying on a promised transformation date.
